Career Highlights
During her career, Emma has been a team leader, head of department, and managing partner. However, for her personally, it has always been about working alongside likeminded colleagues to achieve the best outcomes for clients.
During her 35-year career, she has represented many clients, but two stand out:
Spinal Cord Injury: £24 million settlement
Emma achieved a settlement of just under £24 million for a young lady who sustained a spinal cord injury, providing the family with reassurance that she would receive the care she needed over her lifetime. During this case, Emma secured millions of pounds of court approved interim payments which enabled her client to have the 12-month inpatient rehabilitation she needed, and to purchase a property for her to live in the community with her family and, importantly to her, her dog. Without this she would undoubtedly have been institutionalised.
Cerebral Palsy Birth Injury: Securing 8-figure settlement
Emma secured an 8-figure settlement for a young man who acquired cerebral palsy as a result of an injury at birth. The court approved interim payments Emma managed to secure, enabled a property to be purchased and adapted for his needs. In addition, it secured a skilled 24-hour care team to work with him and ensure he undertook activities that he wanted to, including attending musical festivals.
What Emma has to say…
“It is a privilege to work alongside the skilled lawyers at HCC. We all share one common goal. Achieving the best we can for our clients at all stages of their cases. This requires empathy, building trust, and working as a team with our clients and their families – ultimately, caring passionately about the work that we do.”
