10th Mar 2025
We are thrilled to announce that HCC Solicitors has been shortlisted for Law Firm of the Year 2025 at the prestigious Modern Claims Awards. This recognition highlights our continued commitment to excellence, innovation, and client service in the serious injury legal sector.
A Year of Growth and Innovation
Over the past 12 months, HCC Solicitors has solidified its position as a national leader in serious injury claims. This reflects our strategic investments in talent, technology, and expansion over the last year. This includes:
- New Office in Plymouth – Responding to demand, we expanded our national presence by opening a new office in Plymouth, complementing our established locations in Manchester, London, and Birmingham.
- Court of Protection Team – Our new Court of Protection team, led by specialist, Michelle Weaver, ensures our clients’ financial security post-settlement.
- London Office Expansion – Due to significant growth, our London team has moved to larger premises in the heart of the City.
- Technology Investment – We are actively trialling AI solutions to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
- Recruitment Drive – We continue to expand, hiring across all four offices to support our increasing caseload.
Commitment to Client Service
At HCC Solicitors, we put our clients and their families first. Our ‘Family First’ approach provides holistic support for those impacted by life-changing injuries.
We’ve secured tens of millions of pounds in compensation for our clients during the last year. However, our approach does not just stop at financial compensation. Our focus is also on ensuring that clients receive:
- The best possible rehabilitation to ensure the best chance of recovery and future independence.
- Wellbeing support for each client, and their family – with services offered by our client support team, headed by an experienced case manager and disability advocate. This pro bono team supports families through needs assessments, rehabilitation guidance, and liaising with medical and social services.
- Housing support – whether they need their home adapting to suit their needs or new accommodation, we seek funding and help to put plans in place that suit the whole family.
Handling High-Profile Cases
HCC Solicitors has represented clients in some of the UK’s most high-profile and complex cases, including:
- The family of Gabrielle Hutchinson, tragically crushed to death at the O2 Brixton Academy.
- The partner of Metropolitan Police Sergeant Matt Ratana, tragically murdered in a custody suite.
- The families of victims of the Plymouth shootings, where an ‘Incel’ gunman killed five people.
- Detective Sergeant Nick Bailey, poisoned in the infamous Novichok incident.
Giving Back to the Community
Beyond legal excellence, we are dedicated to diversity, education, and social impact.
Our DEAR (Diversity, Equality, Anti-Racism) Group inspires young people from all backgrounds to pursue careers in law, and educates our colleagues. This provides an inclusive culture at HCC Solicitors and ensures a better client service.
We work closely with many charities, these include organisations such as Brake, Roadpeace, Spinal Injuries Association, and the Down Syndrome Association, to name but a few, offering legal training and support.
Looking Ahead
Being shortlisted for Law Firm of the Year is a testament to our team’s dedication, expertise, and unwavering commitment to client care. As we continue to grow and innovate, we remain focused on delivering exceptional legal services to those in need.
We look forward to the Modern Claims Awards 2025 and celebrating excellence across the legal sector. Thank you to our clients, colleagues, and partners for your continued support!
