HCC Solicitors & Dementia UK
4th Jan 2018
We are pleased to confirm that our official charity of 2018 – chosen by our staff – is Dementia UK.
The charity is close to the hearts of many people here at HCC Solicitors who have had family members affected by Dementia. The charity provides specialist dementia support for families through its Admiral Nurse service.
These nurses work alongside people with dementia and their families: giving them the one-to-one support, expert guidance and practical solutions they need, which can be hard to find elsewhere.
Families that have their support have someone truly expert and caring by their side – helping them to live more positively with dementia in the present, and to face the challenges of tomorrow with more confidence and less fear.
Admiral Nurses were named by the family of Joseph Levy CBE BEM, who founded the charity. Joseph had vascular dementia and was known affectionately as “Admiral Joe” because of his love of sailing.
We know that by fundraising for Dementia UK, people living with and affected by dementia will receive compassionate expert care and support that is right for them, to live positive and fulfilling lives.
All the money we raise at HCC Solicitors will go some way to providing the Admiral Nurses service – as well as Lead the way in innovative and high quality research and development into the best possible dementia care.
Thank you to everyone who takes an active role in fundraising for our nominated charity!
