17th Nov 2023
We are delighted to announce further growth at HCC with the appointment of experienced solicitor Mark Copley to our Birmingham team.
Mark, who joins HCC as a senior associate, is an experienced personal injury solicitor with highly honed skills in handling complex, catastrophic injury cases.
These cases include life changing brain injuries, spinal injuries, amputations and cases involving children and other protected parties.
Mark has years of experience dealing with road traffic collisions, employers’ liability, public liability, criminal injuries compensation authority claims and claims against the Motor Insurers’ Bureau.
Mark, who qualified as a solicitor in 2009, has spent his entire career specialising in supporting clients who have sustained catastrophic injuries and has helped clients secure financial compensation and rehabilitation packages ranging from £1m to circa £15m.
Mark has held positions on the board of directors with the Citizen’s Advice Bureau and Headway Cambridgeshire, as well as being a member of the steering committee for the Eastern Region Brain Injury Forum. He has been a regional secretary for the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) for many years. He is also a recommended lawyer in both the Legal 500 and Chambers.
Commentary from the Legal 500 includes:
‘A very punchy litigator, willing to take on difficult cases.’
Commentary from Chambers & Partners includes:
“Mark is a strong solicitor and an excellent negotiator. He always goes the extra mile for the client.”
Mark re-joins his former colleague, Joe Speed, partner at HCC in Birmingham, who he originally met in the personal injury team at Taylor Vinters, which was subsequently acquired by Slater & Gordon. He joins HCC from Barr Ellison.
Joe Speed, partner at HCC in Birmingham, said:
We are delighted to bring Mark on board to our practice in Birmingham. Having worked with Mark previously and having known him for many years, he is exactly the kind of professional who I know will support our clients who have sustained life changing injuries as well as their families.
Mark Copley, senior associate at HCC, said:
I am delighted to join an award-winning law firm and I’m looking forward to playing a role in helping to develop our Birmingham office and further establish our wider presence in the West Midlands.
Outside of work, the father of two enjoys cricket, music and spending time with his family.
